Area guide

More than London by the sea

Affectionately nicknamed London by the Sea, surrounded by the National Park and bordered by beaches, Brighton and Hove is a great place to live, to visit at weekends or to study. With direct trains to Gatwick and London from Brighton, Hove or Preston Park Stations our thriving coastal city attracts professionals, families, students and investors from London and those returning from abroad. With good schools and universities, great hospitals and career opportunities we also have plenty to see and do from the coastal attractions of the pier and Marina to its famous festivals, arts venues and vibrant al fresco lifestyle of its picturesque, Regency heart.

Properties range from grand Grade I listed homes which line the seafront to tranquil terraces by parks and eco- friendly new builds with views over the city – and we have them all for you to choose from.

Areas surrounding Brighton and Hove

There are several smaller areas bordering our city. Places like Hangleton, Patcham, Coldean, Saltdean, Hurstpierpoint and Shoreham are just a few examples of places that are ideal for buying or renting. Well connected with good access to transport and plenty of local shops, bars and restaurants, there’s the bonus that they can be slightly more affordable than central Brighton and Hove.

To the west, east and national park

Worthing and Littlehampton with their famous seafronts and Arundel and Lewes with their castles, countryside and rivers are popular destinations with rail and bus links of their own. We have plenty of properties for sale or rent along the coast from the Marina to Seaford, all within easy reach of good schools and parks as well as the city – or beyond – and we also attract those wishing to buy or rent within characterful towns and pretty villages nestled within the 1,627km2 of the National Park.
